Selling cash-secured puts is a conservative options strategy geared to retail investors. It is similar to covered call writing with some slight differences. The strategy can be used to generate monthly cash flow, purchase a stock at a discount (in lieu of placing a limit order) and in conjunction with covered call writing to create a multi-tiered option-selling, cash-generating business.
